Michael Achterberg

Michael Achterberg is Senior Portfolio Manager for Union Square Capital Partners.

Previously, Michael was President and Portfolio Manager at PREDEX Capital Management. Prior to PREDEX, he was CFO at CITIC Securities International Partners which conducted investment banking and private equity from offices in Los Angeles, New York, Hong Kong, and Beijing. Prior to that, he was a partner at Strome Investment Management which managed hedge funds with assets in excess of $1 billion. As CFO he was a member of the investment risk and valuation committees, and participated in the due diligence and allocation of capital to other managers.

Michael was a former CPA and Audit Manager with a Big Four accounting firm in Los Angeles working exclusively in the investment industry with advisors and funds. He served on their national quality review program for the Investment Company practice.
